If you are a descendant of a Company L soldier you can request a Men of Company L WWI certificate memorializing your ancestor’s service. There is no charge for membership. Register as a descendant,. You may become a member as either a direct descendant or a collateral descendant. A direct descendant is related through the soldier. E.g. Soldiers son or daughter, grandson or granddaughter. A collateral descendant is related through a brother or sister of the soldier. E.g. Uncle, Great Uncle, Second Great Uncle.
A PDF file version of the membership certificate is available for a donation of $20. Include your ancestor’s name, rank (optional), and your relationship for the certificate.
A printed letter size membership certificate for a donation of $25. It includes a Men of L Commemorative Pin, and free mailing. Include your ancestor’s name, rank (optional), and your relationship for the certificate.
The Descendant Certificate below is a sample based on an original Men of L membership certificate issued to the soldiers of the Men of L after WWI. The original Membership Certificate was blue in color (See example below). On 23 November 1929 the gold color membership certificate was approved by the board of directors to replace the blue version.
