Post WWI autobiograph record by Sergeant WOLFSON who immigrated from Russia in 1904. He joined the Illinois National Guard in 1916 and served on the Mexican border, and during the East St. Louis race riots. He was activated for WWI active duty with Company L in July 1917. As a sergeant he fought in all their battles - Somme, Amiens, Hamel, Argonne Forest, Bois du Forges, Bois du Fais, and Trayon Sur Meuse. He was wounded in the Forges Woods battle (Bois du Forges). As squad leader captured 17 German soldiers. He recorded his life events for the Office of War Records of the American Jewish Committee as a permanent memorial of Jewish Service in the World War.

David had a son Lawrence who went out to settle in Colorado and that son had a daughter Julie or Julia who attended the University of Colorado and married a Steve Edward Denning or Dennings in 1971 when they were both students at the university and Lawrence was present.  Littleton CO is mentioned.  

An obit for Wolfson contained minimal information, but his death date somewhere else indicted 11 Dec 1950 Chicago IL. The obititary was written as if all the details were not known.  Note: Some information cannot be so as places in Chicago are incorrect.  The family apparently arrived in the US in 1907 and  they were from what was then Russia.  The family was Jewish but in later references someone went to the effort of saying that they were from the part of Russia was later incorporated into Poland and they were Polish not Russian.
